The purpose is to develop teachers? awareness of the possibilities of WebQuest design in promoting inquiry and in developing critical/creative thinking.

Description: The workshop would include the following: First of all, a brief introduction on what WebQuests are, how they do correspond to a Constructivist approach, where students are active participants in the educational process, and the teacher?s role is that of a facilitator; and finally, how thinking, communicative, and social skills can be promoted through it. For the hands-on activity, the participants could be divided into groups, in order to do two tasks: The first one could be choosing from a given website a WebQuest on any topic that is of their interest, and to brainstorm about it, based on some given questions. The second task could be to actually design a simple WebQuest, applying the knowledge acquired in it. Finally, there would be a plenary to share experiences and to discuss about the process followed. The WebQuest would be designed using MSPublisher.
