Description: To begin with participants would be introduced to a project I?ve carried out with local primary school children and ICT specialist student teachers. Using a VLE to showcase children?s creative work and using wikis and discussion forums to support PSHE and collaborative writing tasks online. Participants would then be given access to the VLE through guest accounts. They would be given a collaborative online writing task to carry out using a wiki tool. There would then be a final discussion to exchange ideas on the ways the VLE and its tools might be used to support children?s wider learning; online collaboration between different international schools. The VLE is based upon Moodle, an open source piece of software so it would also be possible discuss some of the issues of establishing a school VLE using Moodle.
