ICT Conference '08

Dear Participants,

Just a week to go! This might be the last newsletter before we meet in person, but check your emails early next week, in case we have any more urgent messages/news to tell.

Conference Timings - Timings of all the events are now available in the updated Schedule of Events on the website www.rioict.com.br, in the Programme section. All participants will also receive a printed copy of this in their welcome packs on the Friday morning. (please note - the Hotel transport return time on the optional activities Flyer incorrectly stated 20.00 instead of 21.00 - we really do want to give you all a bit longer to enjoy the food, drink, music and company J). For those saying at the recommended hotel, you will receive the Hotel-Conference transport timetable on your check-in.

Photo upload/profile feature on website - there is now the option of uploading a photo of yourself to the website when you have logged in. The purpose of this is to help us conference coordinators get to know you participants a little better, and also the photo will also be included on the ID badges (but this will be optional - your choice). To upload your photo, log into the site then click on View my Profile, and then Upload Photo

ID Badges - data checking - we are preparing ID badges for all participants, but we would like you to check the data that will be printed. We are going to include your Name, School, City, Country, and (optionally) your Role and Photo. You can view your ID Badge data by logging in to the website www.rioict.com.br and then clicking on View/Edit my profile which will take you to your Registration Profile Page for checking/editing details. There is there an option to View ID Badge data. Please check your data by Tuesday 18th November as we will be printing and making the badges on Wednesday 19th.

Workshop Allocations - If you are a new participant, or still haven't logged in to view/edit your workshop allocations, please do so a.s.a.p. This feature will be disabled at the end of Tuesday 18th November, to allow us time to finalise and print information for the welcome packs and information boards. To check/edit your workshop allocations, log in to the site, and go to Workshops > My Workshops

Workshop Leaders: You should already have received an email from the technicians. Please feel free to discuss your hardware /software needs with them directly. Please note that if you wish to visit the Conference Venue on Thursday 20th November, to see your room, check any software/hardware, you will be welcome to do so. However, you must email us (in advance) at ict-conference@britishschool.g12.br to confirm this and give an expected time of arrival. You may visit anytime between 09.00 and 17.00 on that day, but only if you have requested to do so in advance. Note also that the conference rooms/technicians/ICT resources will not be available at the Welcome Cocktail in the evening - we all want to enjoy in the event.
