Dear all this is the final Newsletter before we meet up in person,

Photos - thanks to all who have uploaded their photos. They are optional, but it is nice to be able to put faces to names! If you haven't uploaded yours yet, and want to, please login and click on View/Edit Profile - you will then have the option of uploading your photo, and saying whether you want it to appear on the ID badge or not. Some photos appear a little distorted, we will correct them for printing on the badges, but if you want them to appear correctly on the site, you will need to re-upload the images in normal "portrait ' format proportions.

ID Badge Data - Do please check the data for your ID Badge as we will be printing them on Wednesday and want the data to be as accurate as possible. You can 'View the ID Badge Data' when you are logged on and in the View/Edit profile section.

ID Badges & Welcome Packs - you will receive these when you arrive at the conference, either at Cocktail on Thursday, or on the Friday morning. Once you have received your ID badge, please wear them whenever you arrive at the school gates, and also throughout the conference.

Viewing Participants - We have added the option for you to view the ID badges for all participants. Login and View your Profile - there you will see the option "View Participants"

Workshop Leaders - when you click on your workshop in the workshop programme, as well as the list of participants, you will see their photos too (if they have uploaded them), just so that you can get an idea of who will be in your session. We will print these workshop participant lists on Wednesday and they will be in your welcome pack. Remember, if you want to visit the school on Thursday (anytime between 09.00 and 17.00) you need to email me by the end of Tuesday so that I can put you on the visitor list for the gatekeepers.

State Holiday: Thursday - be aware its a Rio state holiday here on Thursday, so most shops will be shut etc. It shouldn't affect you much, though taxis will be a little more expensive on that day (bandeira 2) - the Sunday rate.

Cash Payments & Receipts - cash payments (City tour & any outstanding conference fees) will be received only on the Friday of the conference till the end of Lunchtime (from 08.15-13.45). Please do not try and pay cash for the City tour on Thursday - we will not be able to receive it. Please pay on Friday by seeking Juliana, Administrative Supervisor, who has an office in the school entrance hall. You will receive an official receipt. You will be able to pay in US$ or R$ - using Friday's exchange rate if required. Information about other optional activities will be given on Friday morning at the opening of the Conference.

Weather - the weather is very variable at the moment - yesterday we had a flash-flood storm, and today its gloroiusly sunny. The forecast is not good, but they could be wrong (and often are!) - see http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/BRXX0201.html Let's keep our fingers crossed! Safe journeys (for those travelling to Rio) and look forward to seeing you at the Cocktail on Thursday, or Friday morning at the breakfast/opening of the conference.
